Name: Dave Hamilton
Occupation: The Luckiest Nerd On Earth
Number of years you’ve attended Macworld: I believe I've attended 13 Macworld Expos, and quite a few AppleFests before that.
How long have you been a Mac user? Got my first Mac (an SE/30) in early 1989
How many Macs do you own? 7 currently. |

Is your Mac for professional use, personal use, or both?
Depends on who's asking? Do you work for the IRS? No, seriously, we've got 2 for the family and the rest are used in the business.
Favorite apps for your iPhone:
Well, I'm not sure that these are my favorites, but the apps which I launch most often are Mail, Wall Street Journal, WeatherBug, Twittelator Pro, Bloomberg, Geocaching, and Guitar Toolkit (handy for tuning!).
Favorite hangout spot(s) in San Francisco (during Macworld):
Dave's (no, not mine!), and a secret little diner not too far from my hotel. ;-)
Hobbies:
Does this count? I do enjoy it so. Ok, other stuff... playing drums, geocaching, singing, learning guitar.
Favorite vacation destination:
Anywhere with my family which, during the last few years, has included Lake Winnepesaukee, NH; Naples, FL; a couple of Disney Cruises through the Carribean; and West Dover, VT.
Most daring adventure you’ve ever been on:
Spending 3 months on tour playing drums with Hypnotic Clambake.
What was the last book you read?
I recently re-read, "The Creature from Jekyll Island: A Second Look at the Federal Reserve" by G. Edward Griffin. Terribly written, but stuff everyone should know.
Name 5 artists on your iPod:
Phish, Miles Davis, R.E.M., Rush, Weather Report
Album you’d take with you on a deserted island:
Weather Report, "8:30"
Most memorable Macworld moment:
Tough call... there have been SO many, both personal and business. One favorite is the first Macworld All-Star Band gig at The Cooler in New York City in July, 2001. We weren't very good (and have gotten a lot better), but that combined everything and was the beginning of a very special thing.
Name the food you couldn’t live without:
Anything my wife makes! But especially her shrimp curry!
The most recent movie you saw in the theater:
Theater? What's that? We have *children* now. We watch movies at home. It's more comfortable... and cheaper!
Are you a speed typist or do you take the ‘one finger at a time’ approach?
Most definitely a speed-typing kind of guy. Thank goodness for that high school typing class on the old IBM Selectric III
What do you like most about Macworld:
The energy generated by the community, the connections, and the people I see, old friends and new.
Sessions you’ll find me speaking in during Macworld 2010:
Running Your Mac Lean, Clean & Mean
